As part of a project that is being executed by Arghyam, PAC and Outreach, on carrying out Citizen Report Cards on water, sanitation and health in the rural areas of Karnataka, a four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) is being conducted in Bangalore at the Indian Social Institute. The participants belong to various NGOs working in the three sectors and have partnered with Arghyam for not only carrying out the CRC survey exercise but also participate in information dissemination and conduct follow-ups and advocacy measures. This workshop aims to: (a) facilitate concepts and practices on data collection techniques, conducting surveys, water quality testing, and documentation and (b) building capacity for the local partners to conduct regional training programmes at the district level.
The four-day TOT programme includes a range of activities like interactive sessions on water, sanitation and health issues, survey sensitization, PRA methods and CRC interview techniques, survey sampling and monitoring techniques, water quality testing procedures and documentation of this state-wide exercise. PAC’ specific role in this partnership is to provide technical support to all data collection and analysis concepts and procedures.
